The call for nominations for the 2024 Emergency Vehicle Technician of the Year Award (EVT) is now open and Firehouse is pleased to announce that it will be presented during the 2024 Fire Truck Training Conference (FTTC), Sept. 29 - Oct. 4, in Lansing, MI.

Since 1999, the FTTC has been a key hands-on training event for emergency vehicle technicians industry-wide. The event, started by Spartan Motors, has continued to evolve and grow over the years and is now sponsored by REV Fire Group and REV Ambulance Group.
The EVT of the Year Award was created in 2003 to recognize the mechanics and technicians who are the unsung heroes behind operational fire, emergency apparatus and vehicles. Firehouse's Special Projects Director Janet Wilmoth created the award based on awareness of the dedication and commitment of her brother and others he worked with.
“The move to FTTC is an excellent fit for the EVT of the Year Award,” said Wilmoth. “With over 300 EVTs, FTTC is the industry’s leading EVT hands-on training and testing event. Recognizing the annual technicians’ commitment to their job raises awareness of why firefighters, EMS and others can quickly respond to incidents.”

The deadline for submissions is July 22.
Previous nominees are eligible for nomination with a completed form and letter of recommendation.
