Cambridge firefighters tackled the fire in three buildings.

Cambridge firefighters tackled a difficult blaze early Sunday.

The fire was reported about 3:30 a.m., and quickly escalated to nine-alarms, Cambridge fire officers said.

The fire started in a vacant building and quickly spread to nearby structures.

There were no injuries.
