Robert M. Winston served as the fire chief for the Pickens County, GA, Fire & Rescue Department, and was a former Boston district fire chief. He is a current member of the Fannin County, GA, Fire & Rescue Department and is an honorary member of the Waterford, VT, Fire Department. He wrote the Wildland/Urban Interface column for Firehouse for many years.
