Mike “Cutter” Shafferkoetter is a 29-year veteran of the fire service, including 27 years concentrating on technical rescue. He currently is the division chief of training for the Rock Community Fire Protection District in Jefferson County, MO, and a rescue team manager for FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Missouri Task Force 1. Shafferkoetter is an instructor for/co-owner of Total Technical Rescue Solutions in St. Louis County, MO, and has taught technical rescue classes for more than 20 years.
