Our newest addition - a Maxim pumper built on an International Fleetstar 2010A chassis. The truck is powered by an International FTVS-549 gas engine. Being the fire truck version of the 549, it has dual ignition, modified cam timing, and larger carburetor jets. Behind the 549 is a Spicer 5652 5 speed manual transmission. The truck has a single stage Hale QSD 1000 GPM pump with a 1000 gallon poly tank. It carries 1250 ft. of 3" hose. The compartments were totally refurbished, along with the addition of the poly tank, by Gowans-Knight Co. in Connecticut. This truck will double as a pumper and service truck. The former owner of this truck was the Water Witch Hose Company No. 2 of New Milford, CT. Since we are Station No. 2, the original "Water Witch Hose Co. No. 2" gold leaf lettering was left on the cab doors. After all, it is an interesting name.
