This 2000 John Deere Gator with "med-bed" attachment was donated entirely by the American Tobacco Company to assist us in our needs. Part of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, an abandonded railway coverted to bicycle/hiking path, runs through our response area. With limited access and no where to turn around (along with some area's just too narrow to drive a full size ambulance), this muti-purpose vehicle was just the ticket. It is equipped with a stokes type basket stretcher and room for two attendants and a driver. Being a 4x4, it's use is not only during good weather on the trail, but in the winter as well for reaching remote area's where snowmobilers and hiker's sometime travel.
