Ladder 1

The pride of the GVFD fleet, Ladder 1, is a 2000 model 105' ladder by Aerial Innovations and built by Quality on a Spartan chassis. It carries 750 gallons of water and is equipped with a Waterous 1750gpm pump. A Class 1 Fire Commander and FoamPro system help take the guesswork out of pumping. 5 crosslays consist of 200 feet of 1 3/4-inch and 2-inch line, and 250 feet of 1 3/4-inch, 2-inch and 2 1/2-inch lines. Off the rear is 1200 feet of 5-inch LDH and 200 feet of 3-inch to a gated 'Y', then 200 feet of 1 3/4-inch off each side of the 'Y'. Also off the rear is 150 feet of 2-inch with a TFT Blitz Fire monitor. On top on each side is an Elkhart Stinger 1250gpm deck gun. The ladder tip sports a 2000gpm Elkhart automatic nozzle with remote control monitor, a pair of 1 million candlepower spotlights and two 750-watt floodlights. On the sides of the rig are two 750-watt flood lights. Supplying power to all these lights is a 20,000-watt A.M.P.S. PTO hydraulic generator. In addition, L1 also carries extrication equipment consisting of a Hurst ML-32 spreader, ML-12 cutter that can also spread, a 12-inch and an 18-inch ram and two ML-2H powerplants. All ISO required ladder and engine company equipment is carried.
