Engine 119 - "So good it hurts!"

July 15, 2009
Engine 119, always a crowd favorite, is an unmatched asset to our Department's fleet. Even though E119 is soon to become the oldest unit in our fleet, it still manages to be the one you trust in your time of need. In addition to the 1250 gpm Waterous pump and 500 gallon booster tank, E119 carries all the basic Engine Company tools, as well as other equipment for our FAS Team. This equipment includes; a QuickVent Chainsaw, Hydra-ram Rabbit Tool, Milwaukee 18V Cordless SawZall, Stokes basket, Search, utility, and life-saving ropes. When responding on FAST alarms, we also bring the TIC from R18. We also carry 8 Scott 4.5 SCBAs, 8 spare cylinders, 1000' of 5" supply hose, 1100' of 2 1/2" attack/supply line, and 1500' of 1 3/4" attack line. Currently, we are in the process of designing our replacement unit, which is budgeted for the 2004/2005 fiscal year. Oh, and by the way, E119 has NEVER been REFURBISHED. The reason it is in such great shape is from a continued tradition of pain-staking labor from our dedicated members. E119's predecessor, a 1962 Mack C95, was in service for over 30 years.
