The "Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr." is the first line Fire Boat for the City of Baltimore. She is 103 feet long with a 12,000 GPM pump. The main starboard engine is a Fairbanks-Morse, 8 cylinder, 2,511 cubic inches and weighs about 12,600 lbs. The port engine is identical. All pumping and propulsion functions are independant. She was buit in Camden, NJ in 1956. A crew of 5 staffs this unit 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
