FIRE 38

July 15, 2009
Here's one you don't see very often! This is a 1948 Willy's Jeep fitted with an Ansul Dry-Chemical system. It carries 350 pounds of Purple-K which is discharged into the side mounted hand lines by nitrogen stored beneath the passenger seat. "FIRE 8" has spent it's entire life at the University of Illinois - Willard Airport in Savoy, Illinois, and is driven (on those bright, sunny days) as a secondary vehicle. The unit is fully operational, on reserve status, and sorry, no, it is not for sale.
