Showcase: Etna, N.Y. F.D. Puts Pumper/Tanker in Service

Volunteers with the Etna (N.Y.) Fire Department recently put a 3,000-gallon KME pumper/tanker into service. The 10-wheel apparatus has a polypropylene tank and a 1,500-gpm single-stage pump.

The unit also has three 10-inch Newton dump valves with two electric telescoping chutes one on each side.

The body is constructed of 1/8-inch black clad aluminum and features storage for a full ladder complement under the tank as well as three 15-foot sections of six-inch Maxi-Flex suction hose stored under the T-tank.

Other features include custom dual chrome vertical exhaust stacks, an International Diamond Logic electrical system, low side compartments and an overall length of 33 feet.
