This unit was completed & picked up by department members from Fouts Brothers Fire Equipment in Smyrna, Ga. on September 27th.

Tanker 6458 was needed to reduce the department's reliance on automatic aid tankers in achieving a hydrant waiver given by the ISO in the department's 2012 survey that resulted in the department receiving a 4/10.

With hydrants covering the district every half mile not all residents were within a 1,000 feet of a hydrant. The department has two tankers, now one 1,700 and Tanker 6458 carrying 3,000-gallons.

Additionally the department has three pumpers all with 1,000-gallon tanks.

Tanker 6458 has a 3,000-gallon drop tank, 750 pump with pump and roll capabilities, deck gun prepiped, Newton 6012 swivel dump valve with extension, 4-inch Fireman's Friend self opening and closing LDH direct tank fill, 2.5-inch direct tank fill, 20 feet of 4.5-inch suction hose, and will have 1,000 feet of 5-inch hose, 200 feet of 2.5-inch and two 200 feet  of 1.5-inch preconnects.
