The Epping Fire Department in Epping, New Hampshire has taken delivery of an all-new HME 3000-gallon top mount tanker, built on an 1871-Spectr custom chassis with a 12-inch raised roof and seating for six occupants.
It's powered by a Cummins ISX12 500-HP diesel engine and equipped with a 2,000-GPM Hale "Q-Max" midship pump.
It utilizes tandem axle drive, double frame rails, 45 degree cramp angle for tight turns, 6-wheel stability enhancement system, Allison 4000EVS Automatic Transmission with push-button selector, cab tilt road interlock, HME Hydra Technology with 2,000-gpm performance and a 47-inch wide stainless steel top-mount pump panel.
It also has a TFT model XG18VL-XX, 18-inch "Extend-A-Gun" unit and mounting kit, Akron model 3416 "Apollo", direct mount, lift off style monitor with 360 degree rotation and 1,250-gpm rating.
It also has one crosslay bed, two speedlays, aluminum removable hose tray, thru-the-tank storage, 137 cubic feet of compartment space, 102 cubic feet of hosebed, 218" overall apparatus length, adjustable hosebed dividers, satin anodized roll-up doors, 6 rear SCBA tubes, deep adjustable shelving, pullout trays, FoxTrax tool boards, and a custom Whelen lighting package.
