An AR-AFFF attack/resupply foam trailer, built by UPF, has been delivered to West Douglas Fire Rescue in Colorado.
The unit features a 50-gpm transfer pump, a 600-gallon compartmental tank with 500 gallons of 1 percent foam and 100 gallons of 3 percent. It's built on a 12,000-gvw trailer.
The department, based in Sedalia, will use the unit for incidents involving tires stored at a local tire recycling facility along with incidents involving flammable liquids and hazardous materials.
The community also has two railroads and truck traffic on US Highway 85 transporting hazardous materials daily. The trailer is especially designed to be used on hydrocarbon fires and spills, including flammable liquids containing ethanol and other alcohol-based products called polar solvents.

Although it will be housed in Sedalia, the foam trailer will be available as a regional resource to fire departments throughout the Metro Denver area and the Front Range.
The unit has two 2.5-inch attack lines, two 1.75-inch attack lines, a 500-gpm monitor that can be fixed or portable, and a generator that will power two scene lights.
The trailer was purchased with funds from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Waste Tire Fire Prevention Grant Program, along with funds from West Douglas Fire Rescue.
