Apparatus Showcase: Ocean City, Md. Gets Big Tanker

The Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department, has taken delivery of a tandem axle pumper/tanker built by KME on a KME Predator cab and chassis with a 16-inch raised roof.

The Waterous 2,000-gpm two-stage pump is powered by a Fire Research "In Control" pressure governor and has a Waterous Advantus 6 Class A and Class B foam system.

It also has a 2,500-gallon polypropylene tank with a 25-gallon Class A foam cell and a 100-gallon Class B foam cell along with a 10-inch square Newton dump chute with an 18-inch electric extension.

Other equipment include a Zico single-arm heavy-duty overhead hydraulic Port-A-Tank rack and a heavy-duty overhead hydraulic ladder rack, Federal Signal camera system, triple Whelen light package, a Whelen 'traffic advisor' a Nightscan light tower with Fire Research Optimum light tower.

The overall length of the vehicle is 39.9 feet
