The firefighters with the Frederica, Delaware, Volunteer Fire Company have taken delivery of a new pumper tanker built on a Spartan cab and tandem axle chassis.
The Gladiator LFD model cab has seating for six and a 10-inch raised roof with a 24-inch front bumper extension and an 1.5-inch preconnected hosewell.
To fight fire it has a Hale pump, a 3,000-gallon water taken with a 4-inch Fireman's Friend tank fill at the rear, a 5-inch front suction, discharges on both sides and the rear, in addition to the one on the front bumper.
Other equipment includes a Zimatic electric ladder rack with pike pole storage, a Kussmaul on-board battery charger/conditioner, a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren, Whelen warning lights and siren, Whelen scene lights, an Optronic handheld spotlight in the cab, an electric cord reel, and diamond grade chevron pattern stripping on the rear.
The overall length of the apparatus is 38 feet 6 inches and it has a 71,000 pound GVWR.
