The Newton, NH, Fire/Rescue Department has taken delivery of its first new apparatus in 18 years -- Tanker 4, built by Pierce Mfg.

The Newton, NH, Fire/Rescue Department has taken delivery of its first new apparatus in 18 years -- a new elliptical tanker built by Pierce on a Kenworth T800 cab and chassis. The apparatus is powered by a Cummins 425-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. It is also equipped with a Hale Q-Pak 1,000-gpm pump and a 3,000-gallon elliptical water tank.
