New 2,000-Gallon Tanker Heads to Canonsburg, PA

Firefighters with the North Strabane Volunteer Fire Department, out of Canonsburg, PA, hired Toyne to engineer and build a new tanker for their department. Tanker 48, which is the third Toyne Tailored Apparatus to go into service for the department, joins a fleet of 12 emergency vehicles. The tanker is built on a Kenworth T370 2 door cab and chassis and powered by a Paccar PX9-380 engine, and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has Hale MBP 750 PTO pump and a 2,000-gallon UPF tank. Canonsburg, PA is located 18 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, and was incorporated in 1802. The North Strabane Fire Department is comprised of career and volunteer firefighters who operate out of three stations and protect nearly 9,000 residents. North Strabane's apparatus was sold by Toyne Authorized Dealer Tri State Fire.
