The Royersford, PA, Fire Department recently purchased 2016 105-foot heavy-duty Pierce Aerial to replace an aging 1993 unit.

The Royersford, PA, Fire Department recently purchased 2016 105-foot heavy-duty Pierce Aerial to replace an aging 1993 unit. The new aerial is built on a Pierce Velocity eight-occupant cab powered by a Detroit Diesel DD13 525-hp engine and an Allison 4500EVS transmission. It also has Oshkosh TAK-4 front and TAK-4 T3 rear suspension. It is equipped with a Pierce PUC 1,500 gpm pump, a 500-gallon tank. Other equipment includes Bostrom Command Com system, a Pierce information system, Whelen and HiViz LED scene lights, and a 10,000-watt SmartPower generator.
