The Pelham, AL, Fire Department welcomes a new Pierce Velocity PUC pumper that joins the rest of the Pierce apparatus in the city's front line service.

The Pelham, AL, Fire Department welcomes a new Pierce Velocity PUC pumper that joins the rest of the Pierce apparatus in the city's front line service. This unit is the second PUC in the fleet following the addition of a 75-foot aerial Quint 91 two years ago. The newest pumper is powered by a 500 hp engine and an Allison transmission. It has a 1,500-gpm PUC pump, and a 500-gallon tank. Pelham runs 5 stations of ALS apparatus.
