Jasper, IN, Fire Dept. Puts Unique Heavy Rescue in Service

The Jasper, IN, Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2017 heavy rescue from SVI. It is the first SVI built on a Ferrara cab and chassis.

The Jasper, IN, Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2017 heavy rescue from SVI. It is the first SVI built on a Ferrara cab and chassis. A Cummins ISL 9 engine and an Allison transmission power the rescue. It is equipped with an on-board cascade system with filling station, a Command Light light tower, LED scene lighting, Genesis extrication tools, and Res Q Jack heavy-duty struts. It's also equipped with Milwaukee power tools, Stihl power tools, a portable, multi-point, winch system. a 30,000-watt generator, and EMS equipment in the cab. Rescue 1 went into service on August 7 and is housed at the Herman Kiefer Fire Station 1.
