The Detroit Fire Department has taken delivery of a new custom HME Ahrens Fox rescue pumper.

The Detroit Fire Department has taken delivery of a new custom HME Ahrens Fox rescue pumper. It's built on an HME 1871 SFO custom chassis with a 183-inch wheelbase. It's powered by a Cummins ISL 9 370 hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. For firefighting, it has a WS Darley / 1-1/2 AG / 100 GPM and a 300-gallon UPF tank. Other features include full-length coffin compartments, adjustable aluminum shelves and heavy-duty pull-out trays with vertical roll-up doors.
