E-ONE has appointed Kent Tyler president and CEO. Tyler replaces Peter Guile, who was appointed CEO of Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV), the parent company of E-ONE, in January. Tyler most recently was president of Collins Bus Corp., also an ASV company.

Tyler has more than 14 years of experience in the specialty vehicle manufacturing industry, having joined Collins Industries in 1997. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree from Missouri State University.

Also, Patriot Fire, E-ONE’s dealer for Maryland and Delaware, recently opened a 26,000-square-foot facility next to Route 50 in Maryland. The new location features a body shop with a 70-foot spray/bake booth and frame-alignment system.
Another ASV company, Horton Emergency Vehicles, a manufacturer of ambulances, has appointed Williams Fire Inc. as exclusive dealer for Alabama and Georgia. The dealer is based in Ashland, AL.
WEINBRENNER SHOE CO.’s board of directors has appointed Patrick Miner president. Miner has been with Weinbrenner since 2002 and most recently was senior vice president of sales and marketing. Previously, he held sales and management positions with Wolverine Worldwide, Acme Boot Co. Nocona Boot Co. and Leegin Leather. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
KME has been awarded contracts for 11 custom pumpers and multiple 100-foot tractor-drawn aerials (TDAs) by the Los Angeles County, CA, Fire Department. The pumpers feature KME’s Predator Severe Service chassis with a 450-hp engine, 1,500-gpm midship pump, 250-gpm auxiliary pump for pump-and-roll operations, 500-gallon water tank, 25-gallon foam cell and KME Lock-N-Load hosebed cover.
The quint TDAs feature KME’s Predator Severe Service chassis, 500-hp engine, 2,000-gpm pump, 350-gallon tank and 100-foot, four-section Aerialcat steel ladder. KME’s “No Post Vision” windshield on the tiller cab eliminates the A-pillar for the greatest visibility to the front and side of the cab.
WATERWAY INC. and MISTRAS GROUP INC. have partnered to offer one-stop testing services to fire departments nationwide. Services include hose, hard suction and ground ladder testing from Waterway and aerial and pump testing from MISTRAS.
“Until now, fire chiefs have had to make several calls to different companies to have their annual NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) compliance tests undertaken,” said John Green, franchise manager for Waterway. “All they have to do is make one call and we will coordinate to serve our customer most efficiently and in the most time effective manner.”

METALCRAFT MARINE US Inc. (MCM) and partner BRUNSWICK COMMERCIAL AND GOVERNMENT PRODUCTS (BCGP) have been awarded a contract to design and produce the new-generation Long Range Interceptor II (LRI II) high-speed patrol boat for the U.S. Coast Guard.
The LRI II is powered by twin Cummins Tier III 6.7L diesel engines and Ultra 305 water jets with electronic joystick controls. It has a range of 236 nautical miles on plane and can reach 42 knots. The first boat will be delivered this year.
FERRARA FIRE APPARATUS INC. has been awarded a contract by the FDNY for 13 additional 100-foot rear-mount aerial ladders. With this latest order, a total of 54 of FDNY aerials will carry the Ferrara nameplate.
