FDNY Apparatus Crash into Cars, Hit Pedestrian

FDNY crews were responding to a report of smoke in a Brooklyn building when the accident happened, injuring a 68-year-old man and 11 firefighters.

Two FDNY trucks responding to a call in Brooklyn crashed into at least two other cars, and clipped a 68-year-old man Tuesday night, police said.

The trucks, from Ladder 113 and Engine 249, were responding to a report of smoke in a building on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights at about 10 p.m. when they crashed near the corner of Rogers Ave and Crown St., authorities said.

In all, 11 firefighters suffered minor injuries, as did the pedestrian, police and fire officials said.
