HME Ahrens-Fox recently announced the addition of Tom Jekel as the Vice President of Operations. Jekel will oversee the day to day operations of all HME Ahrens-Fox firefighting apparatus.
“The growth of HME Ahrens-Fox has necessitated the addition of someone with Tom’s depth and experience,” said President Jim Monterusso. “To find someone with equal components of manufacturing, education and that of a first-responder made Tom’s addition an easy choice.”
Jekel has 20+ years of hands-on manufacturing leadership, where he most recently served as the plant manager at Symbiote in Zeeland, MI. He has his Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, has been an instructor at Grand Rapids Community College for over 20 years, is an EMT, and is Deputy Chief of the Zeeland Township Fire Department. Tom has been married to his wife Barbara for 30 years, and they have four kids.
“I am honored to join HME Ahrens-Fox,” Jekel said, “and have the ability to merge the many different aspects of my life’s work to help construct the best fire apparatus available.”
