The Soboba Fire Department in San Jacinto, CA, has taken delivery of a Pierce 107-foot Ascendant heavy-duty tiller. It built on a Pierce Arrow XT cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins X15 600-hp engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a 1,500-gpm Waterous mid-ship pump and a 300-gallon water tank. Other equipment includes a 10,000-watt Onan hydraulic generator, Whelen warning lights, Fire Research Corp scene lights, Hannay electric cord reels, a Kussmaul battery conditioner, and a Federal Signal siren.
