MD Firefighters in Ambulance Hurt in Rear-End Crash

The Prince George's County firefighters were taken to the hospital after their ambulance was hit from behind by another vehicle Thursday near Oxon Hill.

Two Maryland firefighters were injured after the ambulance they were in was rear-ended by another vehicle Thursday.

The accident involving a Prince George's County Fire/EMS vehicle happened at about 9 a.m. on an Interstate 495 exit ramp, near Oxon Hill, the department said in an online statement. Both firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and they were taken to an area hospital.

The person in the other vehicle also was hurt in the accident and taken to the hospital, the department added.
