LOS ANGELES, CA, OCT. 9, 2012 – A fire in a three-story office building alongside the Hollywood Freeway damaged six businesses and sent one firefighter to the hospital. It took the combined efforts of 125 firefighters less than two hours to fully extinguish the flames. The fire was confined to the structure of origin, with the bulk of the fire damage limited to the attic, the entire third floor and a portion of the second floor.

BUFFALO, NY, OCT. 10, 2012 – Firefighters were called out to battle a fire at on Buffalo’s East Side. Ladder 6 put its tower ladder into operation. Acting Division Chief Mike Biasillo transmitted a second alarm. Multiple 2½-inch handlines were used along with ground ladders. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SYLMAR, CA, SEPT. 21, 2012 – Two companies of Los Angeles firefighters responded to a fully involved car fire that spread to the brush on the northbound 5 (Golden State) Freeway. Firefighter Bryan Hill pulls a 1½-inch line and attacks the fire. The cause of the fire was a minor traffic accident in which there were no injuries.

BRONX, NY, JULY 18, 2012 – Bronx Dispatch sent a full response to 975 Walton Ave. on a report of a fire. Before arrival, Battalion 17 transmitted a “10-75” for a working fire, followed quickly by a second alarm for heavy fire on multiple floors of a large, six-story, occupied multiple dwelling. Companies immediately removed occupants and stretched lines. All members were eventually withdrawn from the upper floors and two tower ladders went into operation. People in Yankee Stadium, less than two blocks away, watched as flames consumed the sixth floor and roof. Five alarms and a sixth for relief were transmitted before the fire could be placed under control. Twenty-seven firefighters and two residents received minor injuries.
