Hawthorne, NJ, Engine Co. 3 has placed into service a 2018 KME rescue-pumper with a Waterous 2000-gpm pump, 750-gallon water tank.

Hawthorne, NJ,  Engine Co. 3 has placed into service a 2018 KME rescue-pumper with a Waterous 2,000-gpm pump, 750-gallon water tank. It is powered by a Cummins X15 model 505-hp engine and a Allison.

The apparatus has a 10-occupant cab and chassis with storage compartments above the rear seats and a small transverse compartment behind the front wheels the driver's gear and pike poles. There's also a separate, vertical transverse compartment behind the cab and before the pump pane; with a roll-out tool tray that can be accessed from either side of the apparatus.

The apparatus has a portable 9,000-pound winch with four receiver points, hose bed compartments for two Stokes baskets, hard suction hose, ground ladders and pike poles. In addition, it has roll-out tool trays, two Craftsman tool boxes and coffin-style compartments. The rig also has a booster reel above the pump.

The apparatus is set up with fire suppression equipment on the officer's side of the rig and rescue tools on the  driver's side. It has 10-discharges with none on pump panel.
