Christiana, DE, Volunteer Fire Department, in New Castle County, has taken delivery of a 2019 Pierce Arrow XT pumper. It is built on a four-door, six-occupant, climate-controlled cab, powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous CSU C20D 1,500-gpm, single-stage pump, a 750-gallon UPF Poly Tank III, and a Trident air primer system. It is also equipped with a Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, Holmatro rescue tools, Paratech struts, Whelen warning and scene lights, and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
