The La Grange, NC, Fire Department has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side control tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner M2 106 chassis.

The La Grange, NC, Fire Department has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side control tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner M2 106 chassis. It is powered by a Cummins L9 350-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission.To fight fire, it has an 1,800-gallon APR polypropylene tank, a Darley LSP 1,000-gpm pump, and two side stainless steel Newton 10-inch square dump valves with a 36-inch telescoping chutes plus one on the back with a 12-inch flip chute. It is also equipped with a "tip-down" portable tank carrier and a 2,100-gallon portable tank, Whelen warning and scene light packages, Kussmaul air and battery conditioner, a hose reel with 100-feet of 1-inch hose and ROM roll-up doors.
