Miami-Dade, FL, Fire Rescue Gets Pumper to Protect Airport

Miami-Dade FL, Fire Rescue has put a Sutphen Monarch heavy-duty pumper in service to help protect the Miami-Dade International Airport. It is built on a Sutphen Monarch cab and chassis with a 62-inch extended cab and a 10-inch raised roof. It is powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale Qmax 1,500-gpm single-stage pump and a 750-gallon tank with a 30-gallon foam cell. Other features include an Akron Brass 125-gpm eductor foam system, a 24-inch steel channel bumper extension, Tomar scene and warning lights and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
