Sutphen built this pumper for the Youngstown Whitney Volunteer Fire Department in Youngstown, PA. The rig has a 242-inch wheelbase.
It is built on Sutphen's heavy-duty Monarch custom chassis featuring an eight-person, 73-inch cab with a 15-inch raised roof. It is powered by a 600-hp Cummins X15 engine, Allison Gen5 EVS4000 transmission and has a 420-amp Leece Neville alternator.
The front axle and suspension is rated at 23,000 pounds and the rear axle and suspension is rated at 27,000 pounds.
The top-mount pumper features a 2,000-gpm Hale Qmax single-stage pump, a 750-gallon tank and Hale SmartFoam 5.0 system with a 25-gallon foam tank. It has 13 discharges. There is a TFT XFC-42 Crossfire with quad stack tips.
The stainless-steel body boasts 315 cubic feet of storage space and is constructed with huck bolts. It is outfitted with Amdor roll-up compartment doors, a PS-04 RES 40/47 electric ladder rack, a 200-foot Hannay electric cord reel, and an 18-inch polished stainless-steel bumper extension.
Emergency warning equipment includes a Roto-Ray warning light, grilled-mounted Federal Q2B siren, Whelen 900 warning lights and a Whelen Freedom IV 72-inch light bar. Scene lighting includes FRC Spectra brow lights, FireTech Guardian Elite scene lights and FRC Tripod Lights.
