Union County, NJ, Emergency Services, has put Tanker 7 in service, a 3,500-gallon apparatus built by Pierce Mfg. It is built on a Freightliner 114 SD 6x4 cab and chassis, powered by a Detroit Diesel DD 13, 450-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. The two-door apparatus is equipped with a 1,250-gpm single-stage pump and a 3,500-gallon tank. Other equipment includes a 10-inch rear-dump chute, a TFT Monsoon 1,250-gpm monitor with an electric panel and a wireless control. It also has adjustable shelves in the compartment, LED strip lighting for compartments and the hose bed, two cross-lays, a hose bed capacity for 300-feet of 3-inch hose and 100 feet of 5-inch large diameter hose.
