Kennard, TX, Vol. Fire Department has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side-control, tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner M2 106 cab and chassis with a Detroit Diesel DD8 7.7L, 375-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a 3,000-gallon UPF polypropylene tank and a Hale MBP 1,000-gpm pump. It's also equipped with three stainless steel Newton 10-inch square dump valves with 36-inch telescoping chutes, Whelen scene and warning lights and a Kussmaul air and battery conditioner with a manual connection.
