Stewart Simmons Volunteer Fire Department, Deep Gap, NC, has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side-mount tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner M2 106 chassis.

Stewart Simmons Volunteer Fire Department, Deep Gap, NC, has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side-mount tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner M2 106 chassis. It is powered by a Cummins L9 350-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire it has a 2,000-gallon APR polypropylene tank and a Hale AP50 side-kick pump. Other features include a Newton 10-inch rear dump valve with a 12-inch flip chute, a tip-down portable tank carrier with a 2,100-galllon portable tank, a Kussmaul air and battey conditioner and Whelen warning and scene lights.
