WATEROUS CO. has introduced the ONE STEP CAFSystem, providing true one-touch operation. Flow rates for water and air are pre-set to guarantee the same, consistent and reproducible CAFS every time. Water, foam and air are introduced into the mixing chamber, where a 99% transformation into a homogeneous, continuous bubble stream is created and is available right at the discharge. Its patented pressure regulation allows the pump pressure to be above the minimum pressure without disrupting the function of the unit or changing the consistency of the compressed air foam.

Automated Panel Operation
WATEROUS CO.’s SMARTPANEL optimizes your settings and eliminates mistakes by automating panel operation. Using its CAN-BUS capability, “dynamic” proportional control and W-black patented technology, the SMARTPANEL monitors and dynamically controls valves, throttle positions, hose length changes and more, making changes as needed to maintain your pre-selected criteria. Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
SCOTT SAFETY, responding to the need for a smaller, lighter self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), has created the new 5.5 cylinders. By increasing the pressure in the cylinder to 5,500 psig, Scott Safety was able to maintain the traditional form, durability and capacity of the standard cylinder while offering more than a 10% reduction in weight and profile. The 5.5 cylinders are available in 30-minute, 45-minute, 60-minute and 75-minute durations and compatible with the Air-Pak 75 and Air-Pak NxG7 SCBA and work with existing seats and brackets.

Air Compressor
KUSSMAUL ELECTRONICS has introduced the Auto Pump 12V HP 125 PSI air compressor, available in two configurations for horizontal mounting or vertical mounting. The vehicle mount compressor ensures the apparatus air brake system is properly pressurized for immediate dispatch from the station. The pump has sealed ball bearings for long service life, is compact and has an Auto Drain built in that automatically purges the water separator bowl every time the compressor cycles off eliminating the manual draining for maintenance personnel.

Cylinder Bracket
ZIAMATIC CORP. (ZICO) has introduced the Strapless “E” Model QR-E-1 cylinder bracket. With the self-locking QR-E-1, simply place an “E” cylinder in the bracket and press back through the latch to lock it into place – no straps are required. The heavy-duty backspring holds the cylinder snugly against the latch and prevents annoying rattling. To release the cylinder, slightly press it toward the backplate, squeeze the levers to disengage the latch and allow the backspring to push the cylinder forward.

NEWTEX INDUSTRIES INC. has introduced the Z-Flex Silver multilayer aluminized fabric system for proximity gear used at hazardous materials, airport crash and rescue and petrochemical emergencies. The Z-Flex Silver aluminized outer-shell system combines Z-Flex Multilayer Aluminization (MLA) technology with 3D Mock Knit fabric featuring PBI flame-resistant fibers. By reflecting back heat, Z-Flex Silver allows close flame proximity while reducing the rate of heat absorption that can lead to thermal fatigue. Z-Flex films are designed to reflect up to 95% of radiant heat.
