The F554-Extreme by Summit Fire Apparatus features a body style that can be customized to fit specific needs: light rescue, brush truck, mini-pumper, utility vehicle or any combination. The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) has been increased along with approach and departure angles and ground clearance. Heavy-duty sway bars improve stability. The apparatus is built on a Ford F-550 2-door cab four-wheel-drive chassis. Components include an 11-foot aluminum body with Hansen doors, six side compartments with LED lighting, Whelen LED warning lights and Kussmaul Auto Charge Super Kit.
The Estero, FL, Fire District has taken delivery of a Sutphen SL-75 aerial ladder equipped with a 500-hp engine, Allison transmission, 2,000-gpm Hale pump, 500-gallon tank, 30-gallon foam cell, 73-inch cab with EMS storage and rear transverse compartments, extended front bumper and 10-kilowatt Smart Power generator.
The Syracuse, NY, Fire Department has taken delivery of an SVI heavy rescue built on a Sutphen four-door chassis powered by a 500-hp Cummins ISX engine with an Allison 4000EVS transmission. The apparatus is outfitted with a 26-foot body, four hydraulic reels, two electric reels, one LP air reel, two Amkus ProFusion hydraulic systems and storage space for airbags, 28 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) bottles and cribbing.
King William County, VA, Fire & Rescue operates a Toyne pumper built on a Spartan Metro Star chassis equipped with a 425-hp Cummins ISL engine, Hale Qmax pump, 750-gallon UPF Poly Tank IIE tank, FoamPro foam system, 25-gallon foam tank, Fire Research InControl 400 pressure governor, Harrison generator, Elkhart Brass W.E.T. deluge gun, Bostrom seats, Homator and Power Hawk extrication tools, Hannay electric reel and Junk Yard Dog struts. United Plastic Fabricating Inc. has delivered a 500-gallon AR-AFFF foam trailer to the South Eastern New Hampshire Hazardous Materials Mutual Aid District for response to ethanol or hydrocarbon flammable liquid incidents. The trailer carries 500 gallons of 1%-3% AR-AFFF foam concentrate and has two 200-foot, 125-gpm 1¾-inch foam handlines and a 300-foot, 250-gpm 2½-inch foam handline. All handlines are equipped with pistol-grip nozzles with clip-on foam expansion tubes. The trailer also carries a lightweight demountable monitor with a 500-gpm Elkhart Hydro-Foam nozzle, pre-connected 100-foot transfer hose, 2,000-watt generator and two 500-watt floodlights.
