Drill #110: Roofs

Interior firefighters rely on roofs to maintain their integrity during firefighting operations, however, at times a roof may fail under abnormal conditions. In this drill, readers will learn about the different types of roofs they might encounter on the job.

Readers will learn the meaning of latent heat vaporization and the mathematical equation needed to figure it out.

The drill is designed to be a single page of information to conjure up discussions among your crew members. Sit down and talk about the exercises, and how they may apply to your company. But, just don't read them. Get moving. Head to an appropriate area and train.

Post the information in prominent places in your stations so it's readily available for review.

Please remember to check your Standard Operating Procedures or Guidelines (SOPs/SOGs) before using the drill.
