MAY 20: OCALA, FL – Crews arrived to a report of a kitchen fire to find the resident had kept damage to a minimum by using a fire extinguisher to contain the blaze. He then evacuated his wife and three-year-old child. No injuries were reported.

MAY 27: FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA – Units battled a four-alarm fire in a garden apartment  complex that claimed the life of an adult female and injured six firefighters. Damage was estimated at $1 million and the building was thought to be a total loss. Approximately 160 firefighters responded to the scene, including units from Fort Belvoir and Prince William County. Several rescues were made using ground ladders. Firefighters brought the fire under control approximately two hours later.

JUNE 6: PINE GROVE, PA – A massive fire destroys a former manufacturing facility that was also a former water bottle company. A worker was using a grinder to remove bolts when he noticed there was a fire.

JUNE 12: LAS VEGAS, NV – Firefighters arrived to a fully involved fire in a large, two-story, wood-frame, vacant house. Heat from the fire started two nearby utility poles on fire and there was a danger of power lines falling to the ground. Exposures were also a concern. Crews evacuated nearby homes.

JUNE 20: ANAHEIM, CA – Crews quickly extinguished a blaze at a four-unit apartment complex that led to the hospitalization of two people with burn injuries.
