Recent fires from around the country.

City of Industry, CA, Nov. 13, 2016—It took 90 Los Angeles County firefighters several hours to extinguish a two-alarm fire involving a large pallet and lumber yard. Firefighters used several master streams and hoselines in and around the facility to battle back the flames. A Los Angeles County Fire bulldozer was brought in at daybreak to assist firefighters by pushing down the burning stacks of lumber and debris in an extensive overhaul operation.

Watseka, IL, Dec. 8, 2016—Firefighters from Watseka, located in east central Illinois, made an early attack on a garage fire. After calling 9-1-1, the homeowner alerted his next door neighbors, who were evacuated. Firefighters arrived at 8 p.m. The garage was a total loss, and the home had some exterior damage to the back porch and siding. The home next door had heat and fire damage. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Amsterdam, NY, Dec. 9, 2016—The Amsterdam Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fully involved structure fire. The building housed four apartment units, and five people were displaced as a result of the fire. The fire appeared to have started in the back of the first floor. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Eldorado, KS, Nov. 30, 2016—The Eldorado, KS, Fire Department responded to an early evening vehicle fire. The pickup was fully involved upon crews’ arrival on scene. No other property was damaged, and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
