Chicago, IL, June 1, 2017—Fire companies arrived to heavy fire conditions at a 3-11 alarm fire in a furniture store. The upper floors had all window openings bricked up from past renovations, making an exterior attack difficult. Crews faced severe exposure problems on all sides due to close residential and commercial occupancies. Numerous heavy elevated streams were put to work, including one of Chicago’s new Rosenbauer Snorkel squad units.
