The Greenwood County EMS employee reportedly photographed the victim's body during a call last year and uploaded the image to Facebook.

A South Carolina emergency medical technician was fined after he reportedly took a photo of a suicide victim during a call and posted the image online.

Trevor Sizemore, a Greenwood County EMS employee, also had his EMT certificate suspended stemming from the 2018 incident, WCSC-TV reports. Details of the case and Sizemore's punishment were revealed during Thursday's meeting of South Carolina's Department of Health and Environmental Control.

According to the department's report, Sizemore and another Greenwood County employee responded to a call of a suicide at a home on March 29. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

During the call, Sizemore reportedly used his cellphone to photograph the body and posted the image to Facebook, WCSC reports. The victim's confidentiality was violated, and Sizemore's actions were considered misconduct, the department's report found.

Sizemore agreed to pay a $500 fine, with half of that amount held in abeyance for a year. His EMT certificate also was suspended for three months to be held in abeyance for a year, according to WCSC.

Finally, Sizemore must complete a 12-month ethics and personal leadership course, the TV station reports.
