Report: D.C. Firefighters Arrested for Attacking Cops

July 18, 2019
"I hope that y'all take a bullet in the head because I'm not going to revive you," said one of the off-duty Washington, D.C. firefighters accused of hitting the police officers.

Two off-duty Washington, D.C., firefighters are accused of punching and jumping on three police officers at a pizza parlor over the weekend.

The firefighters—Courtney Barnes and Kimberly Gorham—and a third person were arrested Sunday and charged with assaulting a police officer, WRC-TV reports, citing court documents.

The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. after D.C. police entered a Connecticut Avenue NW pizza shop. Barnes is accused of telling the officers, "I hope that y'all take a bullet in the head because I'm not going to revive you," before punching them, according to the TV station.

When police arrested Barnes, Gorham allegedly jumped on one of the officers, throwing punches and scratching.

The firefighters have been placed on administrative leave, WRC-TV added.
