The Congressional Fire Services Institute has announced that Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick will serve as Co-Chair for the Congressional Fire Services Caucus.

The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) is pleased to announce that Representative Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania will serve as a Co-Chair for the Congressional Fire Services Caucus. He fills the seat left by the retirement of Representative Peter King from New York.

“It is an honor to be named a Co-Chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus. This bipartisan group of legislators aims to support and address the needs of our nation’s brave and selfless firefighters and those in emergency services,” said Rep. Fitzpatrick. “I have always been and will continue to be a fervent supporter of our hero men and women who risk their lives each day for our communities across the country. I am grateful for the opportunity to act as their voice in Congress and look forward to continuing the bipartisan efforts of this caucus.”

“During his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Representative Fitzpatrick has been a strong advocate for the fire and emergency services,” said Bill Jenaway, President of CFSI's Board of Directors. “In addition to his strong public service record, his focus on bipartisanship makes him well qualified to co-chair the Congressional Fire Services Caucus. CFSI looks forward to working with Representative Fitzpatrick to ensure that Congress understands the needs of our nation’s first responders.”

Formed in 1987, the Congressional Fire Services Caucus was established to educate members of Congress about the role of the fire and emergency services in protecting our communities. The Fire Caucus was created to be a bipartisan group where Republicans and Democrats could work together to learn about our nation’s fire and emergency services, improve the readiness of local first responders, and jointly recognize their valor and dedication.

A current list of Fire Caucus members can be found on CFSI’s website.
