A San Diego firefighter began his cross-country "Ride into the Light" on Tuesday to honor fallen firefighter Cory Iverson, who died December 2017.
Firefighter Thomas Pittman started his ride from Imperial Beach, CA, and he plans to finish in Jacksonville Beach, FL. The ride will last 31 days, and Pittman is raising money for the Iverson Foundation for Active Awareness, the foundation started by Iverson's wife, Ashley, to provide peer support and mental health programs for emergency first responders, according to KGTV-TV.
