Felony Charges Dropped Against Ex-Miami FF in Prank

Former Miami firefighter Alejandro Sese still faces misdemeanor charges in connection with a racist prank against a colleague in 2017.

Felony witness tampering charges have been dropped against a former Miami firefighter accused of participating in a racist prank against a colleague.

Alejandro Sese still faces petty theft and criminal mischief charges—both misdemeanors—stemming from a September 2017 incident against Lt. Rober Webster at the department's Fire Station 12, WFOR-TV reports. According to prosecutors, Sese and three other firefightersKevin Meizoso, Justin Rumbaugh, and Harold Santana allegedly drew phallic symbols and placed a noose on family photos belonging to Webster, who is black.

The four firefighters were fired from the department following the incident. In February, the men were charged, and Sese originally had been accused of witness tampering for allegedly trying to cover up the prank.

The trial against Sese is scheduled to begin in October.
