Video Captures Sparkler Igniting Thatched Roof of Tampa, FL, Hut

Hillsborough County fire officials said the fire quickly spread and destroyed the restaurant.

An innocent celebration in a Tampa restaurant led to a massive fire within minutes earlier this month.

As restaurant workers carried the flaming bottles of sparklers over their heads, one ignited the thatched roof of the tiki hut, according to WFAA.

The video, released Tuesday by Hillsborough County fire officials, shows the fire growing as customers run out of the building. While they are making their quick escape, a man walks in -- obviously unaware of the fire.

A worker sprayed water on the fire, but the effort proved fruitless.

The blaze spread quickly from the hut to the entire restaurant in a matter of minutes.  The fire grew to take over the entire building, sending a plume of smoke high into the air, lit to an orange hue by the flames.
