Since the release of Firestorm in 1995, Cricket Software has been providing wildland firefighting simulations to firefighters in the U.S., Canada, Australia & New Zealand.
In 1997, we released Firestorm Pro, an upgraded version of Firestorm, using air tankers, helitack & ground crews to fight fires on 6 various maps of 180,000 acres. Firestorm Pro allows the recording and playback of wildland fire simulations to try various attack strategies on the same fire. In 1998, we released Wildfire, an urban/wildland interface firefighting simulator, using an engine, dozer & water tender for structure protection and interface firefighting on 8 various situation maps.
Our software has continued to be upgraded, with new maps, improved audio and continued compatibility with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Cricket Software simulators are used by the state forestry services in 26 states and over 300 firefighting agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service, B.L.M., B.I.A. & N.P.S.
