Robert Moran currently serves as Chief of Department of the Brewster (MA) Fire Department. In 2011 he retired as Fire Chief of the City of Englewood (NJ) Fire Department where he served in the positions of Dispatcher, Firefighter, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, Fire Official, and Chief of Department for 12 years during his 26 years with the department. Chief Moran holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science from Jersey City State College, a Masters Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University, National Certification as a Certified Public Manager, and Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence and the Massachusetts Fire Safety Commission. He currently serves as a Task Force Leader in the Barnstable County Technical Rescue Task Force and also holds the position of Emergency Management Director for the Town of Brewster. During his career in New Jersey he served in all line and Chief Officer Positions as a 30 year member of the Leonia Volunteer Fire Department and was assigned as a Safety Officer on New Jerseys Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 1, and Arson Investigator with the Bergen County Prosecutors Office. Chief Moran co-developed the State of New Jerseys Rapid Intervention Awareness Training Program and co-authored several components of the NJ Firefighter I Training Addendum. He is a founding partner of “Jersey Guys” Fire Service Training LLC, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Cape Cod Community College, Kean University, the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, and the Barnstable County Fire Academy.
